Global Education

About the Program

This program focuses on introducing and teaching kids about our planet through geography, languages and the arts. We believe that people are more alike than they are different and that our basic human needs bind people together.  We aim to create in young people an understanding that the earth is a single system and encourage world citizenship by being responsible and knowledgeable about diverse people and culture.

Celebrate a New Holiday or Tradition!

Every month we invite guest speakers to share their cultures and set the classroom with the students. Celebrations are so fun for kids! Learn about traditions and customs for festivals, celebrations, holidays, and birthdays, and select some favorites to celebrate. There are countless holidays around the world to choose from here are a few:

Collaborate-Connect- Communicate With classes around the world.

The reality today is that our kids are growing up in an interconnected world community. This global collaboration is an opportunity for kids to communicate, solve problems, discuss issues, and learn about each other via technology.

What We Believe

We believe that if we provide them with opportunities to connect with others and develop an awareness of the world they live in, they will show us insights into how we can all communicate and grow together.

If we don’t allow young children to be exposed to different parts of the world and ways of thinking and living, then they will not have the chance to engage in these projects, form these important global relationships, or discover the value of working with students who have different perspectives and ways of being. I think it is our job, as educators, to help these experiences take place so that as our students grow older, they can start seeking out similar opportunities for themselves and sharing their knowledge and experiences with others.

We are offering a global education program for preschoolers with a focus on the french language.

Parking

There is typically plenty of street parking on 18th, 19th and Jackson St. as well as their crossroads.  For your first visit, allow an extra 5 minutes to potentially walk 1 block and/or familiarize yourself with the location and parking options.  Try your best to park within the posted regulations.  If you must double park for a few minutes, be sure to flash your hazards.  Parking enforcement does not come around often but when they do, they are brutal.  Remember to bring all valuables with you when you leave your car.
